Terlingua Trifecta
Just back from several days in Terlingua, Fort Davis, Big Bend area. Saw about 60 bird species, but overall low in numbers. Best bird probably Townsend Solitaire. Since I’m going to attempt to teach a few gulls next class here’s a reminder: it’s about time to be on the lookout (and listen-out) for franklin’s gulls. They migrate from prairie nesting sites To west coast of South America. Right over cen Tex. Also listen for another iconic sound of fall migration—Sandhill cranes!!
