Started off my morning here in Davis Mountains with some bad iphone pix of Montezuma Quail. Then did a walk on roads south of Davis Mountains — glad to hear lots of singing birds and see water where I’ve not seen it before!!! Several first of season for me today at my place. Cranes, w throat sparrow, hermit thrush, mr Lincoln, spot towhee and just now woodcock. It don’t hurt much
It was a pleasure to see multiple wobblers and some sidekicks today at Mills Pond with Virginia. Nice warm up for High Island!!
Next few nights look good for migration through Texas!! I’ll be down at Hornsby ponds from about 7:00-10:00am tomorrow if anyone wants to join me. (Though so many times radar like this doesn’t pan out on the ground). Wherever you are birding this weekend — keep an eye out for Sabine’s Gulls!! Several at Canyon Lake yesterday
