Suggest we keep an eye on the birdcast website over the next few nights and during the rest of fall migration.
And here’s a small challenge for you B3 grads (or anyone else): ID this bird and tell us why. What is the diagnostic field mark?

On a walk in the neighborhood I had some nice birds today, ash throated, vermillion, scissors flys, grasshopper, lark, chippy, savanna and brewers sparrows, and black capped vireo. No pix.
I had a great time at Granger Lake yesterday, sitting solo by the swim area watching migration go by!! No gulls at the swim area, but good numbers flying by and at 2 poorly accessible roosts.
I birded a bit on Post Oak, Alum Creek Road and vicinity this morning (Webberville park closed). Had a few migrants and first of seasons including 10 upland sandpipers (some singing), 4 YH Blackbirds, Franklin’s gulls, painted bunting, yellow throated, white-eye, red-eye vireos, northern parulas, pine warblers, and swainson’s hawk.
