This was October 8 2022 over Westcave preserve.
Since I’m going to attempt to teach a few gulls next class here’s a reminder: it’s about time to be on the lookout (and listen-out) for franklin’s gulls. They migrate from prairie nesting sites To west coast of South America. Right over cen Tex. Also listen for another iconic sound of fall migration—Sandhill cranes!!

(Though so many times radar like this doesn’t pan out on the ground). Wherever you are birding this weekend — keep an eye out for Sabine’s Gulls!! Several at Canyon Lake yesterday
I won’t say it will lead to birds on the ground for us ( having learned my lesson?). But I’m hopeful for Thursday and Friday
