Lark Sparrow
So I watched this Lark Sparrow at L.E. Wood Picnic area in Davis Mnts for about 20 minutes. I couldn’t tell what he/she was up to until I checked the pix on PC. Gathering hairs!!!! For nesting I presume. What eyesight these critters have!!!
Baird’s Sparrow NO
Been hunting for Baird’s Sparrow south of Marfa. Had 8 bogies, but can’t get them to sit up. Here’s the best “view” of a possible I’ve had. The quest continues!!! (Note: there’s no bird in the photo).
Lake Balmorhea
Had 13 shorebird species at Lake Balmorhea this morning. American Avocet, Less Yellowlegs, Greater Yellowlegs, Least Sandpiper, Snowy Plover, Killdeer, Spotted Sandpiper, Long-billed Curlew, Upland Sandpiper, Black-necked stilt, Solitary Sandpiper, Wilson’s Phalarope, and Western Sandpiper. Sandia Wetlands
No pix, but I stopped in Sandia Wetlands yesterday and had Upland sandpipers, LB Curlew, BN Stilts, Killdeer, Less Yellowlegs, and Solitary sandpipers.
