Had 3 Least Flycatchers giving their “whit” calls in a loose flock this morning at my place (The Dacha). (Pix from last winter).
I have a couple. This first one is from NE Oregon on 6/21/22, in Wallawa mountains at 6500 feet in meadows with trees adjacent to pine/oak woodlands. There were at least 5 of the same species within a few 100 yards of each other vocalizing many times.
Thought I’d do at least 1 High Island warm-up post. This time a brief reminder on the 12 regular Texas vireos. Plus 1 rarity. The 1st key to vireos is their song!! Learn it!! Most are quite distinctive, the exception being the 3 in the Solitary Vireo complex. The photos below tell most of the…
