Migration !!! Had a few hundred of these guys near La Grange yesterday. Then I stopped by Hornsby about noon and it was almost devoid of shorebird habitat. Water is up and meets the grass, so no “shore”. I did manage to find 3 of the the “big 4”: Least, Killdeer & Spotted.

Allan and I headed out to Granger area yesterday on our semi-regular NED (Nature Exploration Day). A cool sight this morning: 200 or so cattle egret on Thaxton road south of McKinney falls SP.
I’m not at home, but neighbor asking me about “ those birds flying over in V formation “ = Sandhills. Eyes to the skies!! And ears!! My favorite sound!!!
