Regretfully we were a little short on SHORE for he shorebirds class field trip to corpus over the weekend. But I think we enjoyed it none the less and ended up with around 20 shorebird species!! Distant Snail Kite you may have heard of at Lake Sommerville SP this morning. Only 144 species or so more to go in Texas.
Been hunting for Baird’s Sparrow south of Marfa. Had 8 bogies, but can’t get them to sit up. Here’s the best “view” of a possible I’ve had. The quest continues!!! (Note: there’s no bird in the photo).
Spent monday and tuesday on a quick trip hoping for Gray Gull in the Rio Grande Valley. Didn’t find that gull, but always wanted to visit the famous City of Brownsville Dump !!!! Quite a sight!!!
