We visited S. Llano River SP on beautiful yesterday!! Bird highlights were Vermillion Fly, Great crested fly, PABU, five species of Vireo (BC, WE, RE, YT and Bell’s) (all but BC are also at the Dacha today), Clay-colored, Lark, Chipping, Field, Grasshopper Sparrows, Eastern Wood Pewee. Once again just as i dreamed!! Was able to get this Baird’s sparrow with perfect background in Davis mountains today!! (Note: early April Fools dad joke!)

Covid sparrowfest amigos
Completed my 15th Sparrowfest yesterday, which was the 20th overall for the event. Sparrow numbers remain low in CenTex, but we still managed about 16 species for the group including Lark Bunting and Brewer’s Sparrow.
