More from the PacNW. I’ve been thinking of the many Western GUlls as “big birds” (58″ wingspan), but they were dwarfed as they escorted this eagle on its way. Eagle’s are 80″ wingspan. Also had gloaming fly-bys of Murrelet’s, Marbled I presume, but couldn’t be sure.
Nice and cool on the Oregon Coast!! Here’s a few birds and sea creatures. I’ll let you gull aficionados give me an ID on these west coast gulls. Hint: 3 species.
Ponder that first sentence and ponder….ponder…ponder…
One of these things is not like the other…..Ok recent gulls class, what do you see here? From Hornsby earlier this week.
And finally, here’s another cool gull from Corpus. It took me 7 tries over the past 3 years to finally get this gull. He’s been returning to a bait shop there for at least that long. Also compared to Herring in 1 pix.
White Rock spillway in Dallas did Jeff’s Texas gull rule one better: yielding 100% ring billed. I did a little better at lake ray Hubbard this evening. Have a look at these 2 bad, distant digiscoped pix. Thoughts?
