We happened to be in Corpus over the weekend so stopped in to see this Brown Noddy that had been hanging around. Sadly he was taken in for rehab just after we saw, but later died.
Trying to get a mental handle on timing of warbler migration in Texas. So, naturally, I put together a spreadsheet! From Ebird data. Send me an email if you want a PDF of the graphs, comparisons (eg. the 2 waterthresh) and etc.
Found and error in previous post on Warbler migration. Nashville is a Circum-gulf migrant, which makes sense for what was already cluttering my head
And finally, here’s another cool gull from Corpus. It took me 7 tries over the past 3 years to finally get this gull. He’s been returning to a bait shop there for at least that long. Also compared to Herring in 1 pix.
With good reports the night before, I ran down to the Corpus hawkwatch yesterday. It was a good morning, not epic, but good.!! Broadwinged hawks were lifting off when I got there and I enjoyed nice low altitude views for 30-40 minutes. Kettles streamed over periodically while I was there from 8:30 to 11;30. I…
