Who wants to play Empid?
All but 1 of these pix was taken in September 2023. Most were taken at the Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas during Shorebirds Field Trip.
There are 4 species. Your task (should you choose to accept it) is to tell me which species and give at least 3 observations that support your species choice.

Virginia and I made a quick trip to corpus yesterday for 3 gulls and a duck. Our score on target birds? 0 for 4!! But none the less a great day!!! Especially seeing these early migrants under perfect lighting conditions, in leafless trees at eye level!! DOWN WITH WOBBLER-NECK !!!! (new bumper sticker?)

Another Empid. I watched this one about 30 minutes. I’ll only say this one is from Oregon. Your diagnosis?
Lance and I dipped on our target in corpus yesterday: Black noddy, but got better looks at lawn ornaments.
