Spent about 4 hours on morning of November 9 staking out Santa Elena canyon overlook with a buddy and some pleasant fellow birders trying to see nutting’s flycatcher. Had to settle for heard only but we heard it about 10 times and have no doubts.
Here are the gulls we did see. Can you ID without your book?
The TBRC is pleased to announce that both Steller’s Sea-Eagle and Limpkin have been added to the official State List, bringing it to 657! The Steller’s Sea-Eagle is perhaps one of the more unexpected addition in recent years, with an adult bird seen and photographed by Kris & Jeff Groscop and Gene & Sandi Roesler…
Once again just as i dreamed!! Was able to get this Baird’s sparrow with perfect background in Davis mountains today!! (Note: early April Fools dad joke!)
And some more good news!! Hope we can stop in on coming trip.
Allan and I had a good commune with the Glaucous Gull in Corpus yesterday. (Missed the Iceland Gull there for the 4th time).
