I couldn’t sit still with so many rare birds present in Texas — especially when one was a first state record Gull !!!! So I opted for Amarillo (rather than RGV at the moment). I put in 8 hours of stakeout time for the Yellow-footed Gull in Amarillo yesterday and today and it paid off…

Nice and cool on the Oregon Coast!! Here’s a few birds and sea creatures. I’ll let you gull aficionados give me an ID on these west coast gulls. Hint: 3 species.

Gull #2 from Cedar Point today (for the gulls class of 2024) Pretty straight forward 1st cycle Herring gull. Notice the inner primary “window” with some light shining through. Also compare width of wing at base (where it meets body), all brownish-gray plumage and snout like pulled-taffy. As a larger gull, the wingbeats of this…
