Love these colorful, chunky grasshoppers in Davis Mountains this time of year. They’re called Plains Lubber Grasshoppers. Also a couple of young birds for someone to ID.

Other than not finding Baird’s (yet) I am finding good sparrows. Here’s a few pix from Marfa vicinity for ya’ll to ID. I’ve had 13 species so far.
Here’s a few denizens and scenes from the Davis mnts. this week. The warbler was our 70th species for the cabin!
This is for last year, but I wanted to bring your attention to an interesting website (of which you may already be aware). http://www.jeaniron.ca/2019/wff19.htm Keep your eyes open for 20/21 prediction. JeP PS I’m in the process of querying my mentors on a Winter Sparrow Forecast for Texas. Will keep you posted if anything interesting…
Allan and I enjoyed chasing this elusive but consistent guy around by sound at Gage Gardens in Marathon. He’s a photogenic lad!!
