Glaucous Gull Corpus Christi
Really enjoyed this beautiful and cooperative gull !! I’ve decided Glaucous and Iceland are my favorites, until I see an Ivory or Ross’s at least!!

For you recent Gulls Class graduates!!
Also took me about 30 seconds to add this Brown Booby in Aggieland a couple of weeks ago to my Texas list. Only bird on the lake. Same trip as the Limpkin, I was on a roll!!! 60 seconds of birding and added 2.
Who wants to play Empid? All but 1 of these pix was taken in September 2023. Most were taken at the Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas during Shorebirds Field Trip. There are 4 species. Your task (should you choose to accept it) is to tell me which species and give at least 3 observations…
Our group in High Island really enjoyed this hatch of termites in Smith Oaks!! Brought in many passerines. I guess we spent 30 minutes watching.
Gull #7 (same date location). Gull #7 Forster’s tern (I know – a mean trick as I called it “Gull #7”). Orangey legs, very pointed wing, black ear/eye patch, but back of head is not black (as in Common Tern at this time of year).
In reference to Gull #4, here’s a comparison between adult Herring and LBBG with a Swainson’s Hawk tossed in for mnemonic. Still need some IDs on some of the recent gull pix
