Completed my 15th Sparrowfest yesterday, which was the 20th overall for the event. Sparrow numbers remain low in CenTex, but we still managed about 16 species for the group including Lark Bunting and Brewer’s Sparrow. Just back from several days in Terlingua, Fort Davis, Big Bend area. Saw about 60 bird species, but overall low in numbers. Best bird probably Townsend Solitaire. You gotta love a woman who responds with a huge enthusiastic grin, gets her shoes on, and follows you outside when you say “We have dung beetles!!!!”!! We were delighted to see 3 of these little dudes rolling their business at our place near Fort Davis!!!
