Shorebirds at Hornsby
Here’s a couple of sightings at Hornsby that might interest some of our future repeat offenders from Shorebird Class. (Not my sightings, reported on Ebird daily). Remember a couple of our elliptical migrants we didn’t expect to see this fall? Several asked about the possibility of seeing in the fall.
Although, no pix with the ebird checklist, the descriptions make the sightings seem plausible: “Beautiful bright golden back, small head, small bill, bright white eyebrow, overall slim build. In flight, no black axillars.”
“Much larger than Least or Semipalmated. Wings extended beyond tail. White eye-stripe. Not buffy/pale enough for a Baird’s, and lacked the attenuated look.”
Who’s in position to go have a look?
