14 species of shorebird at Hornsby this morning. I’m surprised I haven’t seen Western or WHite-rumped Sandpipers yet. The fun part today was 20 Hudsonian Godwits flying over the ponds and then 4 landed and stuck around for 15 minutes.

Spent 3.5 hours at Cedar Point on Lake Buchanan this morning. 40 species total including 5 Tri-colored herons and a Bushtit. 10 species of shorebirds including 3 new ones for the fall shorebird season: Marbled Godwit, Black-bellied Plover and Greater Yellowlegs. Walked Platte Lane area of Hornsby this morning. Pretty slow, but we were jawing. Did get Least and Yellow-bellied flycatchers, which was a pleasure to ID confidently!! Didn’t try for pix. Anybody else out birding?
