Migration
So just had a very cool migration experience!!! I’m guessing 200 scissor tail flycatchers at leander HEB swirling around ti roost (pretending ti be martins).

Hearing migrants on my walk this morning: Yellow, Nashville & Orange crown warblers, Clay-colored Sparrow, Dickcissels, Broad wing Hawk, Great crested fly… Also a new yard bird in Hyde park yesterday: PABU!! I’m getting antsy to get to High Island !!!

Birdcast. I should say that just because conditions are good for migration, doesn’t mean we see them on the ground. But it’s a good time to look.
I enjoyed Cin Ty Lee’s presentation on Empids at TOS!! He’s got some good material on his website: http://www.cintylee.org/#/guiding-services/ I also notice that Butter Butt’s are scarfing down crushed pecans in the street in several locations.

Up in oregon now. I’ve heard Dusky, Cordilliran and pacific slope flycatchers by sound and location. Pix have been tough!! Golden eagle fly by yesterday. I love waking and going to sleep to the songs of Hermit and Swainson’s Thrushes. Glad we got up to the pacific NW to escape the heat
