A few sparrows from recent trip to Fort Davis area.
16 Sparrow species for the trip. No luck on the Baird’s despite many hours of walking the roads. The quest continues!!!
I find the Lark Bunting to be so photogenic!! My favorite sparrow. 
Here’s a few pix from sparrowfest. After a slow morning in the fog (at least for me and Byron’s group), in the afternoon we caught up with some good birds discovered by the other group. Several pix of Brewer’s sparrow which sat up and napped with us for about 15 minutes. I didn’t get pix…

Love these colorful, chunky grasshoppers in Davis Mountains this time of year. They’re called Plains Lubber Grasshoppers. Also a couple of young birds for someone to ID.
Came across this titmouse with an oddly curved tail in the Davis Mountains. Hope they grow in straight next time, buddy!!

Had clay colored sparrow and black chin hummer for first time this spring at the dacha. Fos white eyed vireo this week. Still have 4 species of winter sparrows, su skins and spot towhee.
