In addition to auxarus festivus, I also worked on some birds in flight yesterday at Cedar Point.

Gull #7 (same date location). Gull #7 Forster’s tern (I know – a mean trick as I called it “Gull #7”). Orangey legs, very pointed wing, black ear/eye patch, but back of head is not black (as in Common Tern at this time of year).

Cedar Point Lake Buchanan
Spent 3.5 hours at Cedar Point on Lake Buchanan this morning. 40 species total including 5 Tri-colored herons and a Bushtit. 10 species of shorebirds including 3 new ones for the fall shorebird season: Marbled Godwit, Black-bellied Plover and Greater Yellowlegs. Shorebird Count for 2023 (39 or 40)
Today I saw my 39th of the 40 shorebird species likely to be seen in Texas for my 2023 scoreboard. Found a WIlson’s snipe at the Pecos River. (Didn’t get a pix today, this was from elsewhere). Saw 32 species in Central Texas (mostly Hornsby and Cedar Point), 1 more in west texas, only needed…
