Also took me about 30 seconds to add this Brown Booby in Aggieland a couple of weeks ago to my Texas list. Only bird on the lake. Same trip as the Limpkin, I was on a roll!!! 60 seconds of birding and added 2.

Can you ID this bird I had at my place yesterday? Hint: first out of state sparrow of the season for me. If you can, type “yes” in the comments and I’ll reveal ID later. (Bonus points if you can age the bird). If not, or unsure, you may want to sign up (or sign…
Love it when it’s quiet enough to hear the snap of warbler bills. The “snap” may be the warblers popping open elm seeds, as it sounds particularly loud these days. Update: I now believe the snap I hear is the warbler bill coming together on an insect. Not seeds popping. I knew y’all were waiting…
Fall migration is in the air! Dickcissels and at least 4 upland sandpipers going over on this morning’s walk.
I finally got one!! Two actually, an apparently mated pair. Give me an ID before I give you the location.
Been hearing many of these on the Oregon Coast. Do you know the ID? (not the robin). Been extremely hard to see (much less photo) any of them. Too many trees!!!
Up in oregon now. I’ve heard Dusky, Cordilliran and pacific slope flycatchers by sound and location. Pix have been tough!! Golden eagle fly by yesterday. I love waking and going to sleep to the songs of Hermit and Swainson’s Thrushes. Glad we got up to the pacific NW to escape the heat
A chance to practice your silhouettes (and to be amazed that Plumbeous V can spell silhouette!). Only had 1 HO empid on this trip thus far. Near Cuba, NM. Not sure species.
Here’s one i know u wont have trouble with. but for those of you up to the challenge, i’d like u to detail the differences between this bird seen at mills pond this morning, and others of the “solitary Vireo complex”. (actually I think this is 2 individuals, same species).
Just had 2 Bronzed Cowbirds in Hyde park backyard while prepping for class tonight. Knew I should have had my camera handy (Photo from Corpus Christi)
