Birds of Central Oaks and Prairies
I wanted to emphasize Allan’s post of yesterday on a new book by Bert Frenz Birds of the Central Oaks and Prairies of Texas with Emphasis on Historical Changes.
Some of you may have heard Bert’s talk at TOS meeting in College Station a few years ago. I found it fascinating!!!! Here’s why (from another quote from the book blurb on Amazon) “This book explores the various influences that have altered bird populations since the arrival of Europeans to Texas in the mid-nineteenth century, delving into the complex causes behind these shifts.”
Bert is taking data — lots of data– and giving an explanation for what it means!!!
I intend to buy it!!!
