Been hunting for Baird’s Sparrow south of Marfa. Had 8 bogies, but can’t get them to sit up. Here’s the best “view” of a possible I’ve had. The quest continues!!! (Note: there’s no bird in the photo).

Here’s a couple of pix I thought a little unusual. 2 male Vermillions on territory but amicably sitting close together — Maybe family? And 11 Blue Grosbeaks in a flock (not all pictured) – maybe migrating? I’ve never seen more than 2 together that I recall.
A few sparrows from recent trip to Fort Davis area. 16 Sparrow species for the trip. No luck on the Baird’s despite many hours of walking the roads. The quest continues!!! I find the Lark Bunting to be so photogenic!! My favorite sparrow.

On return from Davis mnts today I made my regular stop at the pecos river on the outskirts of Iraan (that’s “Ira — Anne”). There I found a Least Flycatcher and a low altitude Uppy flyby. But what really JAZZED ME!! was the apparently healthy population of minnows and I believe Pecos Pupfish (will be…
