Here’s a few denizens and scenes from the Davis mnts. this week. The warbler was our 70th species for the cabin!
A few sparrows from recent trip to Fort Davis area. 16 Sparrow species for the trip. No luck on the Baird’s despite many hours of walking the roads. The quest continues!!! I find the Lark Bunting to be so photogenic!! My favorite sparrow.
Once again just as i dreamed!! Was able to get this Baird’s sparrow with perfect background in Davis mountains today!! (Note: early April Fools dad joke!)

JeP PS I’m in the process of querying my mentors on a Winter Sparrow Forecast for Texas. Will keep you posted if anything interesting…
Here’s a short sparrow quiz from the Davis Mountains. Can you do it without references?
