ID bird 1?

I was pleased to find a Dunlin at Hornsby this morning. One of the shorebirds I needed for that location. This got me thinking about my all-time Hornsby list and which shorebirds I have not seen there. First table is the 34 species of shorebird I have seen at Hornsby, 2nd is shorebirds I have…
Always something new dropping into Hornsby this time of year!!! 3 new species for 2023 for me at Hornsby today. Love migration!!! And Killdeer already have a chick!! What do ya’ll think about the 4 Ibis?
Migration !!! Had a few hundred of these guys near La Grange yesterday. Then I stopped by Hornsby about noon and it was almost devoid of shorebird habitat. Water is up and meets the grass, so no “shore”. I did manage to find 3 of the the “big 4”: Least, Killdeer & Spotted.
Here’s a photo dump from Hornsby last night. Nearly all the birds are juveniles. Just imagine: they were hatched in July or August in Canada or Alaska and just flew a minimum of 2600 miles to get to Hornsby Bend so that I could take their Pix!!!! Thanks guys!! Question 1: How do I know…
Another BBS out of Marfa is in the books! Here’s a few participants. What say ye on the flycatcher? (same bird in 2 pix and a video)
Here’s a few from the Davis mountains last week.
