Migration over next few days looks good!! Fingers crossed for the Corpus trip!!

Just heard Sandhills going over Hyde park. (Photos from New Mexico, not Hyde Park).
On a walk in the neighborhood I had some nice birds today, ash throated, vermillion, scissors flys, grasshopper, lark, chippy, savanna and brewers sparrows, and black capped vireo. No pix.
It’s that time of year again. We’re on our 3rd group of Sandhills going over the dacha today 75-100 in each group. (Not sure they’re visible in pix)
I’ve watched a number of these webinars from Los Angeles Birders. There’s one coming up on August 8 that looks interesting. Or you can find one that interests you in their archives. Grand Challenges at the Frontiers of Bird Science LA Birder Webinars
Birdcast. I should say that just because conditions are good for migration, doesn’t mean we see them on the ground. But it’s a good time to look.
Hearing migrants on my walk this morning: Yellow, Nashville & Orange crown warblers, Clay-colored Sparrow, Dickcissels, Broad wing Hawk, Great crested fly… Also a new yard bird in Hyde park yesterday: PABU!! I’m getting antsy to get to High Island !!!
