One of these things is not like the other…..Ok recent gulls class, what do you see here? From Hornsby earlier this week.
Here’s a tip from Mary G. If you’re on the fence about gulls, Amar’s book is a good place to start. And let me know if you want me to teach the gulls class again starting in November. https://press.princeton.edu/…/9780691…/the-gull-guide…
Here’s some more bad photos for perusal. Bird 1. Thanks to all who are posting and commenting!!! Just what I hoped for.
Love it when it’s quiet enough to hear the snap of warbler bills. The “snap” may be the warblers popping open elm seeds, as it sounds particularly loud these days. Update: I now believe the snap I hear is the warbler bill coming together on an insect. Not seeds popping. I knew y’all were waiting…
Gulls class starts in 2 weeks !!! If you’re on the fence about gulls — Dive in!!! It’ll be a fun, learning experience !!
At the end of this group of photos is a super cool pix by Suzie Haas McCann taken on our visit to Anahuac NWR last week (WARNING: the last pix contains a dead bird, somewhat graphic).
