Also took me about 30 seconds to add this Brown Booby in Aggieland a couple of weeks ago to my Texas list. Only bird on the lake.

Same trip as the Limpkin, I was on a roll!!! 60 seconds of birding and added 2.

Ok, here’s where birding gets tantalizing (?) frustrating (?)…….again!! We were just out on a snow walk in garland near a wooded creek. I heard an owl. I heard it twice give 3 note, medium pitched hoots — lower pitched than Saw Whet, and Northern pygmy, higher pitched than Long eared — not screech, not…

Gray Gull NO, Brownsville Dump YES

Spent monday and tuesday on a quick trip hoping for Gray Gull in the Rio Grande Valley. Didn’t find that gull, but always wanted to visit the famous City of Brownsville Dump !!!! Quite a sight!!!

Nutting’s Flycatcher Big Bend

Spent about 4 hours on morning of November 9 staking out Santa Elena canyon overlook with a buddy and some pleasant fellow birders trying to see nutting’s flycatcher. Had to settle for heard only but we heard it about 10 times and have no doubts.
