Spizella Sparrows
While we’re on the subject of spizellas: Here’s a few Brewer’s Sparrow pix from trans Pecos. The last pix is the Will Co Brewer’s from Sparrowfest. It’s a still from a digi-scoped video of him. Tried to get a bit of his nape.

Here’s a few denizens and scenes from the Davis mnts. this week. The warbler was our 70th species for the cabin!
Eric and I made a little side trip to the Rio Grande Valley to get the most common bird neither of us had on our life lists for Texas. Anyone want to ID Mr Scruffy here?
Been hunting for Baird’s Sparrow south of Marfa. Had 8 bogies, but can’t get them to sit up. Here’s the best “view” of a possible I’ve had. The quest continues!!! (Note: there’s no bird in the photo).
Spent some more time out in the Davis Mountains last week. The Brewer’s Sparrows sing in groups all in the same bush. See if you can ID others in the bush.
Once again just as i dreamed!! Was able to get this Baird’s sparrow with perfect background in Davis mountains today!! (Note: early April Fools dad joke!)
