13 species of shorebirds at Hornsby yesterday including some very colorful birds.
Also nice of them to build so much additional Spotted Sandpiper habitat!!

Migration & Hornsby Big 4
Migration !!! Had a few hundred of these guys near La Grange yesterday. Then I stopped by Hornsby about noon and it was almost devoid of shorebird habitat. Water is up and meets the grass, so no “shore”. I did manage to find 3 of the the “big 4”: Least, Killdeer & Spotted.

Had 13 shorebird species at Lake Balmorhea this morning. Lake Buchanan Cedar Point
Spent 3.5 hours at Cedar Point on Lake Buchanan this morning. 40 species total including 5 Tri-colored herons and a Bushtit. 10 species of shorebirds including 3 new ones for the fall shorebird season: Marbled Godwit, Black-bellied Plover and Greater Yellowlegs.
