On return from Davis mnts today I made my regular stop at the pecos river on the outskirts of Iraan (that’s “Ira — Anne”). There I found a Least Flycatcher and a low altitude Uppy flyby.
But what really JAZZED ME!! was the apparently healthy population of minnows and I believe Pecos Pupfish (will be verifying with iNat.) They were prolific and just gorgeous with metallic blue in the sunlight!!! So many!!!

Spent some more time out in the Davis Mountains last week. The Brewer’s Sparrows sing in groups all in the same bush. See if you can ID others in the bush.
Allan and I were privileged to watch a second hatch (this time of large flying ants) at LE Woods Picnic Area in the Davis Mountains last week. Stopped at Sandia Wetlands near Balmorhea for another shorebird fix. 6 species of shorebirds. Phalaropes are just so photogenic!!
