Owls
There’s been several Screech Owls singing on my early morning walks recently and this morning also a Barred Owl.

Here’s a little jewel!!! Lance and I got them just in time for Empids class. By Cin-Ty Lee and Andrew Birch I’ve not had time to review it thoroughly, but the simplicity of presentation and Andrew Birch’s beautiful paintings already impress me!!
Great observation practice lance!!!
Some of you may have seen this elsewhere. If you want to delve further into RT hawks this may be the place https://redtailedhawkproject.org/ Also a FB group. Red-tailed Hawk Project
Here’s a courtship or territorial display of the Cooper’s Hawk. He climbed higher and higher and spread white feathers at the base of the tail, then very deliberately flapped wings up all the way , then all the way down. Cool sight to see!! LE Woods picnic grounds, Davis Mountains, 3/17/25.
Another Empid. I watched this one about 30 minutes. I’ll only say this one is from Oregon. Your diagnosis?
Anybody else see this cool local visitor?
