I estimated 330 Wilson’s phalarope at Hornsby in this flock, about 100 in a 2nd flock yesterday. 12 shorebird species.
Allan and I headed out to Granger area yesterday on our semi-regular NED (Nature Exploration Day). We came across some nice shorebird habitats in wet fields and had 6 shorebird species for the morning. So shorebird season is ON!!! Here’s a few easy-peasy to ID. Spent some more time out in the Davis Mountains last week. The Brewer’s Sparrows sing in groups all in the same bush. See if you can ID others in the bush.
Another question for 2022 gulls class: with these long narrow wings with black wingtips I thought I had what species? But what species is it actually?
