Trying to get a mental handle on timing of warbler migration in Texas.
So, naturally, I put together a spreadsheet
! From Ebird data.
Send me an email if you want a PDF of the graphs, comparisons (eg. the 2 waterthresh) and etc.

Who wants to play Empid? All but 1 of these pix was taken in September 2023. Most were taken at the Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas during Shorebirds Field Trip. There are 4 species. Your task (should you choose to accept it) is to tell me which species and give at least 3 observations…
And a few other birds from this morn.
After birding in the wind and rain most of the day, watching this Merlin eat his meal in the hot tub at Mary’s (us in the hot tub, not the merlin) was quite copacetic!!!
Have a look at several pix of an Empid I had at my place in Williamson County on the North San Gabriel River (The Dacha). Tell me what you think (and don’t peek at comments before you consider for yourself
Here’s a little jewel!!! Lance and I got them just in time for Empids class. By Cin-Ty Lee and Andrew Birch I’ve not had time to review it thoroughly, but the simplicity of presentation and Andrew Birch’s beautiful paintings already impress me!!
