Buff-breasted Sandpiper

The Buff-breasted Sandpiper is a beautiful tan, black and white shorebird usually found in short grass. Its migration path takes it through Central Texas as well as the Texas Coast in spring and fall. With its dove-like head and bill, scalloped feathers of the upper parts it is a distinctive species.
