Red Phalarope (alternate)
The Red Phalarope is a rare species for Texas, showing up somewhere in Texas less than annually. These photos in alternate plumage were taken in Alaska on the breeding grounds near Utqiagvik, Alaska (formerly Barrow) where they are common in June.
