Here’s a comparison of Semipalmated with a Least. So I think we can see actual black legs here on this sandpiper. It’s a short-winged bird; wings are just atop tail. Odd Plumage Turkey Vulture
On September 26 this bird was somewhere in Oklahoma. On October 1 I’m pretty sure i saw the same bird in Alvarado Texas. Heading south!! (I didn’t get a pix though)

Clay-colored Sparrow
Had clay colored sparrow and black chin hummer for first time this spring at the dacha. Fos white eyed vireo this week. Still have 4 species of winter sparrows, su skins and spot towhee.
