Completed my 15th Sparrowfest yesterday, which was the 20th overall for the event. Sparrow numbers remain low in CenTex, but we still managed about 16 species for the group including Lark Bunting and Brewer’s Sparrow. I Am Bat Falcon
Bat Falcon — That’s him on top of the telephone pole just left of the water tower. Got him after about 15 micro-seconds of very dedicated and difficult searching. We saw the Social Flycatcher too, but all my pix (from the scrum) were of Kiss-Katies.
Iceland Gull YES
And finally, here’s another cool gull from Corpus. It took me 7 tries over the past 3 years to finally get this gull. He’s been returning to a bait shop there for at least that long. Also compared to Herring in 1 pix.
Glaucous Gull Corpus Christi
Really enjoyed this beautiful and cooperative gull !! I’ve decided Glaucous and Iceland are my favorites, until I see an Ivory or Ross’s at least!!
