The 2026 shorebirds class will conduct a weekend field trip to Corpus Christi & vicinity. We will meet at 5:00pm at Indian Point Pier in Portland, Texas on Friday April 10th. A detailed schedule and location maps are provided below. You should be able to use Google Maps (or equivalent) to navigate to birding and dining locations. If you run into trouble, my cell number is included below. Please be willing to consolidate cars and car pool on the Saturday portion of the field trip.
The field trip concludes about noon on Sunday, April 12th at Hazel Bazemore County Park — this last stop is on the west side of Corpus, so you should drive your own car and have your luggage with you.
- We will be meeting Saturday and Sunday mornings at the Comfort Inn and Suites, Texas A&M, at 1814 Ennis Joslin Rd, Corpus Christi. This is where I will be staying. However, there are numerous hotels in the vicinity of the Comfort Inn & Suites.
- Please make your own hotel arrangements.
- Hopefully the birding locations and dining spots will be accessible via Google Maps (or equivalent). But if you are the type who likes to see where you are going you’ll find maps and addresses here.
