Gulls wander !!!!
I was extremely pleased on recent trip to Bolivar Peninsula when this 2nd cycle Little Gull wandered in as I was watching terns at Rollover Pass!!! He stayed for about 15 minutes while I documented him in every way I could think of. This is what makes Gulling so fun; finding the occasional uncommon gull! Here’s a few reminders of the Little Gull’s size and usual range. (Note that the video is slightly slowed down for better viewing).
Saw a post for this gulls book by Fred Shaffer III and so immediately bought myself a xmas present It’s less dense than all of the other gull books I own and has nice short description and good comparison photos of NA gulls. It doesn’t show all the variations, but for your basic gull book…

Virginia and I made a quick trip to corpus yesterday for 3 gulls and a duck. Our score on target birds? 0 for 4!! But none the less a great day!!! Especially seeing these early migrants under perfect lighting conditions, in leafless trees at eye level!! DOWN WITH WOBBLER-NECK !!!! (new bumper sticker?)
